  1. Define current, voltage, resistance, and the parts of a complete circuit.Current is the flow of charge, voltage is the pressure that pushes it, and resistance opposes it. A working circuit needs a source, conductors, and a load arranged in an unbroken loop.
  2. Apply Ohm's law and distinguish series from parallel circuits.Ohm's law (V = I x R) links voltage, current, and resistance. Series circuits share one path with equal current, while parallel circuits offer multiple paths with equal voltage. A multimeter measures all three quantities.
  3. Calculate electrical power, compare AC and DC, and identify safety devices.Power equals voltage times current. DC flows one way while AC reverses to enable long-distance transmission. Fuses, breakers, and grounding keep circuits and people safe, and these principles appear in devices everywhere.
