Inertia means the passengers' bodies tend to keep moving forward even as the car stops, which seatbelts counteract.
How do mass and weight differ?
Mass measures the amount of matter and is constant, while weight is the gravitational force on that mass and depends on location.
Which equation expresses Newton's second law?
Newton's second law states that net force equals mass times acceleration, F = ma.
If you double the force on the same object, its acceleration will:
Acceleration is directly proportional to net force, so doubling the force doubles the acceleration for the same mass.
