Both are Indigenous peoples, meaning the first peoples of their lands, with cultures that continue today.

Living with the ColdDescribe how the Inuit and Sami traditionally dressed, sheltered, and found food in the Arctic.To survive the cold, the Inuit sewed warm clothing like the parka from caribou and seal skin, hunted seals and fish, and travelled by kayak and dog sled. The Sami followed reindeer, lived in folding lavvu tents, and used the reindeer for food, clothing, and tools. Each people used the land around them with great skill.
