The quoted family says Jane could have passed the two-year-old. The danger is the unseen wheels.

What does Graham actually say about check-reins?

Chapter III condemns the high overcheck. Chapter IV allows a loose check so the snaffle hangs, and records that Cobweb and Major were driven without any.

In Knox's elephant chapter, what is a keddah?

Mr. Webb: a yard of trunks set so men can slip through and elephants cannot, reached through a V of fences. The pump and the shooting law are other sentences in the same chapter.
