<p><b>3.</b> <def>As a noun suffix, it marks the agent; <as>as, cur<ex>ate</ex>, deleg<ex>ate</ex></as>. It also sometimes marks the office or dignity; <as>as, tribun<ex>ate</ex></as>.</def>
