An <i>insult</i> is a personal attack either by words or actions, designed to humiliate or degrade. An <i>outrage</i> is an act of extreme and violent insult or abuse. An <i>affront</i> piques and mortifies; an <i>insult</i> irritates and provokes; an <i>outrage</i> wounds and injures.
